ABOUT THE HANDBOOK
The purpose of this handbook is to facilitate kelp biobanking in BC.
The comprehensive document provides relevant background information on kelp biology, and outlines step-by-step traditional culture-based protocols and more and novel cryopreservation techniques, and what is needed for developing a kelp biobank. The document also provides additional resources to support the execution of these procedures and makes recommendations for the development of a kelp biobanking strategy in BC.
