ABOUT THE EELGRASS RESTORATION HANDBOOK

This Handbook is designed to support planning and implementation of native eelgrass restoration (Zostera marina L.) by First Nations and stewardship organizations in coastal areas of the Salish Sea, the west coast of Vancouver Island, and beyond. It is a practical guide featuring subtidal transplanting from donor beds and seeding methods, with relevant sections on eelgrass ecology, and engaging with community groups and First Nations. Videos of the methods were also created to show the techniques in action.
