ABOUT THE HANDBOOK

This handbook is designed to facilitate kelp biobanking in BC. It provides relevant background information on kelp biology, and outlines step-by-step traditional culture-based protocols, novel cryopreservation techniques, and what is needed for developing a kelp biobank. The document also provides additional resources to support the execution of these procedures and makes recommendations for the development of a kelp biobanking strategy in BC.
